25 Venus ladies spent a weekend in Palisade enjoying the rides, scenery, wine, peaches, and all that the Western Slope has to offer. Here are some of the adventures we had.
Day 1: The Wine&Fruit Loop. First stop – Palisade Pies for second breakfast.
Various other stops included Art (which we imitated and abused), and scenic overlooks where we kicked up our heels and tried yoga poses.
We finished the day with dinner outdoors and all 25 of us showed up to celebrate and plan tomorrow’s adventure.
Day 2: Riding the Colorado National Monument. Lunch at El Tapatio. Some pool time to cool off. Dinner outdoors at Caroline’s and a planning meeting for tomorrow.
Day 3: Half of us rode the lovely flat River Trail for 40 miles, and the stronger halp climbed Unaweep canyon.
A well-deserved peach ice-cream treat after the ride!
A variety of events filled the afternoon: shopping, wine tasting, lunch, pool floating, resting, filled the time until we met again in the pagoda for dinner of leftovers augmented by takeout while we all recalled our best moments of the weekend and finished up with a laughter-filled trivia game. I can’t find pictures of this!
