The rain stopped and skies cleared just in time for Jen Sharp’s Safe Riding Clinic. To start Jen asked us to name our top safety concerns, which were: being hit by a car, making tight turns, and stopping suddenly. The ABC’s or pre ride checks: Air, Brakes, Chain, were explained and tips for dressing in bright colored clothing, the importance of bike lights and use of bike cameras to make us more visible to pedestrians and motorists were shared. We then mounted our bikes and sharpened our riding skills using strategically placed cones to practice riding in narrow spaces, making tight turns and sudden stops. Jen’s enthusiasm and kind nature helped everyone to relax and gain confidence in our cycling ability. It was a lively, enjoyable way to share the evening learning in sisterhood!
Thank you Jen!
